About the designer: Michelle Ivankovic is the senior product designer and creative lead at Umbra. She was born and raised in Toronto and currently works in Umbra's Holland office.

Michelle graduated from industrial design at the Ontario College of Art and Design in 1998. After spending 2 years as a fine woodworker and participating in various exhibitions she began designing for umbra.

Her creative experience marries a unique combination of fine craft with design for popular culture. Michelle's strass stool design is part of the permanent collection at the Cooper Hewitt Museum.
