This eye-catching glass frame borrows the decorative motif on a Favrile glass vase (ca. 1906) designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848–1933) and housed at The Met.

In the late 19th century, the Gilded Age visionary developed a method of blending colors in molten glass, thus achieving subtle effects of shading and texture. He named the results "Favrile" (after the Old English fabrile, meaning "hand-wrought"), and was duly celebrated for the spectacular opalescent quality of these creations.

Crafted in glass with felt backing. Piece displays a 4"x4" print or photo. Overall, the piece measures 6''W x 6''L.
